Art Classes for Children & Teens
Note: Students under the age of 18 cannot take adult classes unless it is specified as accepting children or teens in the class description. In addition, ages for those 18 and younger must be provided on our class registration form.
Carol Herr - Painting Fundamentals Part 1 - Still Life
Saturdays 10am-1pm,
Sept. 21 & 28,
$50 Members/$55 Non-members & $20 mat.fee (paid to instructor -1st class).
Beginner students are introduced to painting in acrylic or oil. We will use simple objects as subject matter to learn the basics. The instructor will give tips on the best materials to use.
All supplies are included so just come and paint!
For adults and teens 16+.
Carol Herr - Painting Fundamentals Part 2 - Landscape
Saturdays 9:30am - 1pm,
November 2, 9, & 16,
$85 Members/$95 Non-members
This class focuses on landscape painting in acrylic or oil for beginning students or those who wish to brush up on their skills. Tips on painting trees, water, fields, skies, etc. and creating a sense of depth in your paintings.
Students should bring their own painting supplies (a material list is available) and a reference photo of a simple landscape.
Adults and teens 16+.
Carol Herr - Drawing/Problem Solving Preliminaries
Thursdays 4pm - 6pm,
September 26 & October 3,
$40 Members/$45 Non-members
Have you realized after working on a painting for weeks that your composition is boring, your perspective isn’t quite right and your proportions are off? Taking the time to plan out your painting with preliminaries such as roughs, thumb nails, and studies will improve your final work.
For beginners and intermediates.
Adults & teens 16+.
Bring drawing pencils (2H, HB, 2B, 4B), eraser, sketchbook with drawing paper.
Carol Herr - Autumn Dazed Designs
Saturday, October 5, 10am - 2pm,
$40 Members/$45 Non-members
Plus a $15 materials fee to be paid to the instructor at the first class.
Create an autumn design and paint with acrylic a bisque ceramic bowl for the Autumn Daze Exhibit or for your own autumn decor. (Finished bowls are not food safe - decorative use only).
This seasonal and fun project is for adult and teen students (ages 13+).
All materials included.

Carol Herr - Holiday Sparkle Designs
Saturday, December 7, 10am - 2pm,
$40 Members/$45 Non-members
Plus a $15 materials fee to the instructor at the first class.
Create a holiday design and paint a bisque ceramic plate for the holidays. (Finished plates are not food safe - decorative use only). Makes a great gift of display as part of your holiday decor.
For adults and teens 13+.
All materials included.
